Aero-X promises to shape Saab’s future

03/07/2006, 10:52 AM

By admin

The Saab Aero-X Concept will start influencing the company’s production vehicles as early as 2008, according to AutoWeek. Former Cadillac marketer Jay Spenchian said he thinks the Aero-X could provide a design basis for all future models in the same way Cadillac’s 1999 Evoq Concept (shown right) set the stage for its design revolution. Spenchian said skeptical reactions to the Aero-X should not concern GM. A groundbreaking design, he says, should make people a bit uncomfortable, as was the case with the Cadillac CTS, and, to some extent, the Chrysler 300.

yeah… what saab needs is a halo model, to draw people into dealers… then again they need cars that dont suck to buy when they get there and cant afford aero-x… i mean, 9-3 is ok, but the new 9-5 looks terrible, the 9-2x is an overblown subaru, and the 9-7x is just pointless…

Typical GM. Take a road worthy car and make it look like every other piece of crap in their product line.

No wonder they are going under! Of all the cars I’ve owned during my lifetime I have had more service problems with GM and Ford products. Fortunately, I never owned a Chrysler product.

By the way I own a 9-3 with nearly 100k on it. So far, repairs have consisted of Brakes, Exhaust and Tires, I go through 45k tires about every 20k, so I am not babying it. But because GM is taking a firmer hand in design and production I will probably not buy another.

You fix the brakes and exhaust? That’s it? When you leave get a Benz or an Audi(you know high quality German car) bet you’ll be back!

That Aero X is hot GM. I can see a 4 door version in the vein of the Chevy SS concept as the new 9-5.
And please make those rims available.

Learn one thing from Cadillac make an Aero X looking vehicle (Evoq/XLR) but, make it at least look as good as the concept unlike the XLR.
