Major automakers and well-known artists have collaborated together before, including the Jeff Koons-designed Art Car with BMW just six weeks ago, but this time it is Italian automaker Alfa Romeo that has an artistic offering to share.

For better or for worse, Alfa Romeo has decided to help launch the new MiTo 1.3 JTDM-2 85 horsepower Sprint with the help of Louise Dear. The end result is a MiTo covered front-to-back in a unique artistic interpretation of the Italian automaker’s “heritage and elegance,” while also emphasizing the car’s “stylish and fashionable” traits, according to the artist.

While the painted car shown in the images if obviously a bespoke edition, the vehicle to which it was applied is unique in that its particularly low CO2 emissions (95g/km) have earned it congestion charge-free status.

The car was revealed at and is being housed temporarily at the Artica Galleries, Covent Garden. The Alfa MiTo will then head to Castle Galleries locations – Birmingham’s Mailbox on July 28, Norwich Chapelfield on August 4th and Cardiff Bay on the 11th of August.
