Buick announced today that it will make its IntelliLink infotainment system standard on all 2013 models. The system launched on the 2012 Verano compact sedan and is currently available on the Regal and LaCrosse.

Along with Bluetooth-based smartphone connectivity, IntelliLink includes voice commands for various vehicle functions as well streaming audio through Pandora and Stitcher SmartRadio. Updates to the system for 2013 include added features for SiriusXM satellite radio, a new "Quick Info" icon for the most popular features and a "Transfer to Private" icon that allows a Bluetooth-paired phone call to be moved off the vehicle's speakerphone for an added level of discretion.

To help users get comfortable with the system, Buick has created a Austin, Texas-based support network called the Customer and Relationship Service (CARS) Infotainment Customer Support Team, which will provide one-on-one guidance to owners.

While the Verano Turbo and the updated Enclave are likely still the biggest 2013 model year news items for most Buick fans, the expansion of IntelliLink should help keep the automaker competitive in the increasingly important infotainment/telematics realm.
