A small company based in Germany called Alpha-N has just lifted the veil off of its latest creation, a supercar dubbed Alpha One that rides on the same chassis as the Porsche Cayman.

Not to be confused with Italy's Alfa Romeo, the Alpha One is fitted with a carbon fiber body that does little to hide its Porsche roots. The window lines and the roof line are both identical to the Cayman.

In spite of the similarities between the two cars the Alpha One is lower, wider and a little longer than the Porsche it is based on. The differences in dimensions are largely attributed to the aerodynamic body kit that the Alpha One is fitted with.

Alpha-N's vague press release does not go into any technical details so what it is powered by remains an enigma. However, the company claims that the Alpha One will make anywhere between 300 and 800 horsepower depending on what options the buyer chooses.

Likewise, the car's weight will range from 2,380 to 2,821 pounds thanks to variations in the body kit and in the interior's equipment level.

A complete set of details and a gallery of high-resolution pictures will be available in the coming weeks. Although Alpha-N has not confirmed this, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Alpha One in the flesh at the Paris Motor Show when it opens its doors next month.
