The official BMW tuner that is Alpina will launch its latest B3 based on the latest-generation 3-series sometime next year. The car will use the twin-turbo inline-six from the current car, though it will reportedly be tuned to produce 100 more horsepower, peaking at 400.

Initially, the car will be offered as a four-door only, though station wagon, coupe, and convertible versions should follow in the following years, AutoCar learned from its sources.
The car will differ from the car it's based on thanks to unique wheels, a lip spoiler and different lower front bumper, quad exhaust tips, and a small trunk spoiler.

It should also make about 400lb-ft of torque, most of which will be available from as low as 1,300RPM, the source said. That power will flow to the rear wheels, though all-wheel drive will be optional on all but the convertible, as BMW needs to offer it on the right-hand drive version of the standard car first.

The diesel versions dubbed D3 are planned for later on in 2013 at the very earliest.
