Yeeking Everywhere » Why American Cars Suck
[...] I’m constantly confused as to why American cars suck. Well, they don’t suck as badly as they used to suck… but they still do. Come on, America’s best volume people movers bets are supposed to be the new Ford Fusion or the Chevy Impala? Compare these two relatively updated models to the updated Camry. Again, the Japanese carmakers dominate the sales charts. Look at that new Camry. It looks good! It has a powerful engine and it gets 30+ miles per gallon. Marvelous. I parked my IS next to a Camry today and I must say that they both look good-almost like cousins… well, the Camry is a $10 cheaper cousin. I would like to offer an alternative conclusion as to why American cars suck-that it’s not that the Japanese or European carmakers are better companies but they have smarter people. Simply put, I’ve met people that work at Honda, Mazda (Ford-owned but I think it’s the other way around) and Toyota and they are all brilliant. Nuff said, I want to work for them. As for the Korean carmakers (of which, we’re really only talking about Hyundai)… well, it might be a sinking ship if the chairman cares to take the ship down with him. [...]
