As close to a BMW M7 as you’ll get

BMW has said it will never do an M7, but the Alpina-tuned B7 is pretty darn close. The upgraded 7-Series features a 4.4-liter, 493-hp, 506-lb-ft super-charged V8 that propels the car to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds — about the same time as an M3 coupe. The Alpina B3, B5, B6 and B7 are built in BMW factories, but BMW North America doesn’t import the hotrod 3-, 5- ,and 6-Series models, thereby avoiding competing with BMW M sales. BMW NA will, however, bring the new B7 to U.S. showrooms for a price of $125,000. At most, about 100 B7s will come to North America. If they sell well, the next decision will be how to expand Alpina’s capacity to satisfy Americans’ horsepower cravings.
