Commodore, that’s a very ignorant view of China. If you’re been there in recent years you’d be highly surprised at how well the communist party is managing the country turning it into what would be the fastest growing market and exporter. Your so called free society is not so free unless you can drive more than 80 mph without getting a ticket. If you use international flights a lot, check out the prison-like security checks you’d have to go through just to get out of US!

Yea biggest and post populated. Why is this such a surprise? Newscasters actually make it sound like its a huge blow to the US!! We are still better, no matter what happens we are a free society unlike China. Communism will fail there and we will become the sole superpower once again (until India comes), unless the Chinese are smart enough to privatize and become more democratic. If anyone protests US pollution, tell them to go to China and send a message to stop having 40 babies so you can run your farms, don’t buy cars that pollute like 50s cars, etc, etc, etc.

Kinda makes you wonder about how we will ever change our methods of polluting this planet. We are having a hard enough time in the US to make change. With China getting more and more polluting with industry and cars, it seems even if the US went Zero emission, would it make a diff with China doubling the amount of cars in such a short period of time?

No xxxxing xxxx. Why is everything being made such a big deal as “China will pass the US in _________”. No xxxx it will! They are a overpopulated country with 4 times as many people as us. It is downright sad that they are so poor right now. Of course their GDP, carmakers, and everything else will be bigger than us.
