Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez has confirmed two rumors that have been circling the web about the British automaker. According to Bez, the Mako Blue Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS — which was unveiled at the same time as the automaker’s new design studio — will see a limited production run, although Bez failed to mention just how limited.
The V12 Vantage RS will be powered 600 horsepower version of Aston Martin’s 6.0L V12 powerplant. The V12 Vantage RS will also sport a better power to weight ratio, thanks to extensive carbon fiber use in the car’s body. Look for the V12 Vantage RS to hit dealer showrooms sometime in 2009.
According to the Dutch car magazine Autovisie, Dr. Bez also confirmed that the company will soon launch a convertible version of its all-new DBS coupe. While spy photos have already tipped us off that a drop-top version of the DBS is on the way, we now know that the DBS roadster will be available for consumption in mid-2009 and will be powered by a 517 hp V12.
