Aston Martin DB9 LM revealed

09/11/2007, 2:01 PM

By Drew Johnson

In addition to the V8 Vantage N400, Aston Martin has also unveiled its DB9 LM at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Created to celebrate Aston Martin’s GT1 class victory in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance classic in June with the DBR9 — a race car version of the road-going DB9 — the DB9 LM sports a unique Sarthe Silver exterior paint finish, meshes and rear crossbar finished in Magnum Silver and red brake calipers.

The interior of the DB9 LM is finished with black leather, perforated leather inserts, unique ‘Tertre Rouge’ facia trim and numbered sill plaque. All DB9 LMs will be equipped with the DB9’s optional Sports Pack, special wheels and a Touchtronic transmission. No pricing details have been released.

It looks too similar to every other Aston Martin. If I was looking to buy an AM i would just buy the cheapest one, I see no reason to blow more money on the more expensive ones (except for more power). Aston needs to learn something from Lambo, at least they differentiated the Reverton and Murcielago

I’ve seen quite a few Vantages here in Boston, let me tell ya… they’re nothing that special. Sure it’s an Aston, and yeah, it’s nice, but it really doesn’t bring up the lust and jealousy mix you get when you see a Gallardo spyder or even a 997 Gt3. In my opinion for the money this would be my fifth or sixth choice down the list.
