Aston Martin has announced a new partnership with Danish high-end stereo maker Bang & Olufsen. The stereo maker’s stock rose in anticipation of the deal being inked with a larger automaker — it was believed that Mercedes-Benz would be the partnering automaker — but Bang & Olufsen’s shares fell 4% after Aston Martin was announced as the partner.
Bang & Olufsen already has a similar deal with Audi.
This week has been a busy one for the British automaker, with the announcement of a new design studio and the unveiling of its V12 Vantage RS.

As a guy, I (of course) like [genuine] high end audio. Volkswagen partnering with Dynaudio was a smart move. Any auto maker partnering with Bose is a mistake, because Bose is all marketing and crap products. Bang & Olufsen is overpriced, underperforming junk in much the same manner as Bose.

Bang & Olufsen is some of the best audio out there, I dont know what you guys are talking about. I have a Bang & Olufsen record player from the 70’s and I have converted many of my new audio tracks onto LP; every time I have people over they comment on the sound quality. When I tell them they are listening to a record not cd or dvd-a they are completely blown away, they make quality product have no doubt people.

That sucks that their stocks slightly fell because of partnering with Aston Martin kinda funny. But from what my old man has told me Bang & Olufsen was one of the premium audio companies. I’m sure whatever audio system Aston Martin puts in their cars should be of superior quality for what you pay.

i think this makes a match. aston martin owners will quite likely own a piece of b&o’s home apparel, so why not on the street?
the b&o sets i’ve heard so far were worth the money in my opinion

Madcapp: Yeap… been down that route with Totem, B&W, and other mass produced “high end”. Bose is pure **** and as someone who care very much about sound quality I’d go as far as avoid getting cars that have Bose “Premium Audio Package”. Dynaudio is decent but can’t beat ribbon highs. I guess Mark Levinson is overkill for a car stereo. B&O is style first sound second.
