NEW FUTURE MARKET
  • Aston Martin opens first South American dealership

By Andrew Ganz - Posted January 20th 2010

British luxury sports car builder Aston Martin has officially opened its first dealership in South America: Aston Martin Santiago in Santiago, Chile.
The dealership was opened in conjunction with the local firm Comercial y Arrendamientos Leon Ltda and Aston Martin says that it anticipates that the store will deliver 15 cars during 2010. Another Aston Martin dealership will open in Sao Paolo, Brazil, later this year, and the automaker says it has plans for additional outlets in Greece, South Korea, Poland and Sweden.

The automaker won’t open a dedicated South American sales and marketing office. Instead, operations will be handled by Aston Martin The Americas Head Office in Irvine, California.

Chile has a rapidly expanding luxury sports car market and it was imperative that we carefully consider the right location and association for Aston Martin in the region. In Comercial y Arrendamientos Leon Ltda. and their facility in Santiago,” said Aston Martin The Americas Vice President and General Manager Julian Jenkins. “I am confident we have found the partner who perfectly befits our brand values and shares our enthusiasm for the marque.”

      I agree with HMD,

Although Im happy for Aston Martin that they are still expanding in this ever diminishing global economy, what does this have ANYTHING to do with us?

Believe it or not, about half of the traffic on LLN isn’t from North America. Obviously we cater the majority of the articles for the N. American market since that is A.) Where we are based, and B.) It is the single largest market… but we do like to take care of our other readers, too. :)

It’s a trap setup by the International Anti-Narcotics Unit led by the DEA. They know that whoever buys an Aston Martin in Santiago is high up in the drug trafficking business. All vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking systems. Drug lords will hide no more.

@vicdub: I thought the same thing at first, minus the conspiracy theory. How many legal millionaires are there in SA compared to let’s say, less than legal millionaires? Ha I know I’m stereotyping, just having fun.

Scratchy – I was referring to LeftLane’s single largest market in terms of where our audience comes from. But yes, China is the largest auto market right now.
