Aston Martin to debut revised V8 Vantage, DB9 at Geneva show

02/22/2008, 3:06 PM

By Drew Johnson

Aston Martin will take the wraps off of an updated V8 Vantage at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, a new report finds. The current car hit the market in 2005 and is ready for a mid-life cycle refresh, which will include tweaks to the car’s mechanics.

According to CAR magazine, the revised V8 Vantage will be sporting a more powerful 4733cc V8. In addition to the new engine, the car’s cabin will reportedly also see a heavy dose of updating. Overall, the improvements should give Aston Martin a true Porsche-fighter.

Look for the new V8 Vantage to hit the market in mid-2008.

CAR also reports that Aston Martin will unveil a revised DB9 at the Geneva show, although no details were given.

Check back in early March for more details and live images of both cars.

Cool! AMs are some of the best looking cars. Except for the orange thing in the photo. Looking at that color on an AM makes me throw up in my mouth.

I wonder how many people who comment on exotics such as AMs have ever driven one. In particular, you gotta love the comments on exotics from our troops.

Like the car, not the color. Put it in British Racing Green, or nice Maroon instead that toxic orange!

The orange Aston Martin pictured is the special edition V8 Vantage N400. It has a revised version of the V8 @ 400 HP. It also has numerous interior upgrades. I’ve seen one at the local Aston Martin dealership.

What’s up with the V12 powered Vantage that has been rumored?

Anyway, I hope the DB9’s changes aren’t too drastic as it’s already the most beautiful car on the planet.

This burned orange color is very inappropriate for this caliber of automobile. I love the car and love this color, but not together.

The Vantage V8 is downright the most gorgeous car in the market today. I’ve seen it parked next to lambos, ferraris, and even the new Maserati Granturismo. It’s still the most perfectly formed coupe.
