Aston Martin has revealed a more potent version of its popular V8 Vantage coupe at the Frankfurt auto show. Dubbed the V8 Vantage N400, the car is the same vehicle captured by spy photographers in late August.

Technical improvements include a power upgrade to Aston Martin’s 4.3 litre V8 engine, lifting peak power to 400 hp and peak torque to 310 lb-ft.

The car also comes equipped with a new Sports Pack which offers subtly different driving dynamics tailored to enthusiasts who seek even more responsive handling.

The Sports Pack comprises a unique lightweight graphite-finished aluminium wheel with diamond turning, up-rated springs and dampers and a new rear anti-roll bar.

The Vantage N400 also includes a number of exterior design changes, including a revised side sill design, Magnum Silver bonnet and side strake meshes, clear rear lamp lenses and a bright finish grille.

Interior enhancements include perforated black leather seats, micro-spin alloy facia trim and a unique numbered sill plaque.

The Vantage N400 will be available in three new exterior colors: Bergwerk Black, Lightning Silver or Karussell Orange, with either Sportshift automated manual or conventional manual transmission and in either Coupe or Roadster forms.

Additionally, the Vantage N400 comes equipped with a range of normally optional equipment, including Satellite Navigation, 700W Aston Martin Premium Audio System, Bluetooth telephone preparation, HID headlamps, cruise control and memory/heated seats.

Although it would look annoying if they made the tail lights white. The ass of a V8 Vantage is already a beautiful thing, no need for changes

I don’t like the tail light color. It should be replaced with a normal red tail light. Otherwise this car is beautiful.

That is one beautiful car in black…

I agree with the statement that the tail lights are a little out of place, but I don’t think they should be replaced with a normal tail light. Make the flashy silver sort of color border the inside of the tail light, make the tail lights clear, and lights be placed deep into the tail light.

BEAUTIFUL!!! I wonder where they are going to shed the weight? And I wonder which transmission they wil use as well? But the weight loss and the extra power will be more than welcome. I just want people to remember when they say it will compete with the GT3 RS and the Scuderia, it doesn’t mean direct performance, but more like track focused car. The same way that a Mercedes Benz CLK63 AMG Black is not in the same performance bracket as the GT3 due to weight, the same applies here.

This is a really nice piece of automotive art and machinery. However, 400 horsepower isn’t that much these days, nevertheless I would be proud if I owned this car.

it’s called “design language,” buytheredcar. a common theme shared between different models. sure, aston takes it to the extreme, but their design language is so beautiful i can’t fault them.

and 400hp ain’t bad. the m3 and the r8 make 420hp apiece, and the aston is placed higher in the market than ether of those as more of a luxury car.

so question of the day…what is the difference between DB7, 9, vantage, and a vanquish?…because visually they all look the same.

The interior is a little different, each one has different side vents, different hoods, there are minor changes in the grille, head lights and tail lights, the V-8 car is not as nearly large, the front valence is changed from model to model, the rocker panels are different, need I go on? They are not identical. Unless you are familiar with these vehicles, you cannot easily see a difference. The Aston Martin is a car for the discrepant automobile enthusiast. If you don’t understand them, don’t try.

Go easy on him XJ-S. I wonder if i’ll be able to get one of these and thrash it before all the rich bastards snap them up and put them on display in an art gallery. Thses cars are for driving and I hope to see them on the road doing what they do best, carving a good corner while looking sexy and cool. Quite a multitask.

jaguar xjs, so you are saying you want to drop 100k more for DB7 over DB9 to have your rocker panel upgraded, taillamp details blinged, hood scooped, and minor grill detailed? interesting…..

my point is, there should be a proportion difference between their models. just needs to be a bit more progressive design instead of evolution after evolution.

If Aston went past the evolving state of design they would alienate their core buyers. It looks like an Aston for the 21st century and that’s what they were aiming for. And if you had to see them actually side by side you will see the difference quite clearly, even past the objects that you mentioned e46. And also, the Vanquish, DB9 and the Vantage look quite different on the road than in pictures, even car testers have said so. I wouldn’t want Aston Martin to do what Chris Bangle has done to BMW.

e46Ne90, The DB9 also has significant performance increases over the DB7, as well as added safety features, luxuries, and other gadgetry. And Aston Martins are not blinged. That is better left for Escalades. The DB9 and especially the new DBS are phenomenal cars as compared to the DB7, which in its own right is a great automobile. But yes, if I had the money, I would gladly upgrade to the DB9 or Vanquish from a DB7. Like I said, if you don’t understand the point to a car like the Aston Martin, don’t waste your time or money. Leave them to someone who can appreciate it.

jordan, sorry its the same car over and over and over again…there isnt a design language.
Its as safe as it can get. Evrey model looks the same!
AMs look really dated after only a few years. Look at the Vanquish. That looks like a bad sketch now. The interior is even worse..
Its the British thing to do. Funny thing is they dont own their own companies anymore…
More they change, more they stay the same….

Sunshine, this car is much smaller and lighter than the DB9 and Vanquishes that most people are used to seeing. It doesn’t need a ton of HP to be fast. Plus it can’t compete with the DB9 anyways. Why would Aston shoot themselves in the foot like that?
