Aston Martin says Lagonda EV will retain 'boldness' of concept

by Justin King

The production model promises to be an evolution of the Lagonda \'Grand Vision\' concept that appeared in Geneva.

Aston Martin has promised its production Lagonda electric SUV will retain the bold character of the 'Grand Vision' concept that debuted in Geneva.

Like the Mercedes-Benz F 015 concept, the Lagonda Grand Vision is designed for full autonomy with front seats that rotate to face the rear-seat passengers while underway.

To be clear, Aston Martin has not explicitly confirmed that a production car will retain the same interior layout. The latest announcement appears to mostly focus on exterior design language.

"It will be like no other SUV to drive, so its looks have to reflect that new reality and to serve as pathfinder to a future in which the most desirable and prestigious automobiles still have a place," says Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman.

The production Lagonda SUV was initially expected to enter production in 2021 but the company now says it will be "unveiled in 2021" with no firm arrival date.
