2009 Audi A4 Convertible

The A4 Convertible is currently Audi's only drop-top offering (including the S4 and RS4 models it has spawned). It is based on the A4 sedan, offering similar features and a comparable driving experience to its two-door counterpart.

It's worth pointing out the A4 Convertible is based on the previous-generation A4, rather than the all-new A4 sedan. It will eventually be replaced by a convertible version of the A5 coupe, which shares underpinnings with the new A4.

The 3.2 FSI V6 model produces 255 hp at 6500 rpm, and 243 pound-feet of torque at 3250 rpm. About 90 percent of the engine's peak torque is available from 1900 to 5900 rpm.

The 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder version was the first engine to combine turbocharging and direct gasoline injection when it was initially launched. Producing 200 hp from 5100 to 6000 rpm and 207 pound-feet of torque between 1800-5000 rpm, the 2.0 TFSI strikes a good balance of power and fuel economy.

Power is transmitted to the road via the front wheels (FrontTrak) or by means of Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The standard transmission is a continuously variable Multitronic transmission (CVT). The Quattro models can be ordered with a Tiptronic automatic transmission.

Changes from the standard A4 chassis include rear shock absorbers from the A6 and front and rear suspension components that originate from the S4. The body structure has also been reinforced with high strength steel to ensure the windshield stays intact in the event of a rollover.

Safety features include a slew of airbags and a roll-over protection system that automatically deploys if the car flips.

Standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, ten-speaker audio system, power windows, cruise control, headlamp washers, and a driver information display.

All A4 Cabriolet models can be equipped with an optional S-line package
consisting of five-spoke 18' alloy wheels, performance or all-season tires, sport suspension, S-line front and rear bumpers, and brushed aluminum interior trim.

Premium audio, auto-dimming mirrors, adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights, an acoustic isolating convertible top, and driver seat memory settings.
