Yea TURBO man, Turbo Boost, Turbo my house! *awkward silence*

Not everything needs turbo e.g. Ford GT, Koenigsegg CCX, Jaguar XKR just to name a few. These are just spectacular examples of cars with superchargers and not turbochargers. With superchargers you have almost immediate power boost off the line while u have to wait for turbochargers to spool up (except for the Prodrive). A4 think before you post dont make yourself soudn like an idiot… I think i need turbo for my lights, blender, this computer i’m on, my mouse, my headphones just to name a few things that might need a turbo…no thanks.

Turbo doesn’t needs to be in EVERYTHING cos what you said is probably what most 5 year olds would say…no offence.

I think winterkorn is forgetting that their FLAGSHIP A8/S8/W12’s exist. The R8 is a complement, not a superior.

Superchargers are no good. If anyone knows turbos its Audi, and i will be sorely disappointed if they limit the Turbo to the 2.0t and perhaps the new RS6. Turbos need to be in everything. They are the best.

I would hope this car helps lead a design trend away from visible Headlamps and into more hidden, integrated ones. I know cars are always supposed to resemble people/living creatures with Headlamps acting as the eyes etc. but perhaps this cleaner look will catch on similar to to the day of pop-ups but without the lines that pop-ups require…

I also read that this is the plant where the Audi S8 is being built. Remember now, that the R8 is built on the Gallardo chassis. And that the Gallardo has a V10 engine. The S8 has the same V10 motor, with less HP and more torque. Of course all this, just lends even more credbility that the Audi R8 will eventually have the V10 motor from the Gallardo, which is what we’ve all been thinking about anyways.

I’ve read that there exist turbo kits for your Gallardo. That means there’s enough room in the R8 to stick a V10 + turbo. Personally, I’d opt for a super charger. Imagine having like 700HP from an R8 V10. This car is gonna rock.

One knock, however, is that the R8 is way heavy. Check out rsportscars.com. It’s about 300 lbs lighter than an M6, and that probably can be attributed to the V8 vs V10 motor.
