^^ thanks for saying it before i could idrin. how hard is it to do a little research and find out the truth instead of guessing about it and assuming its a misprint. I thought it was common knowledge by now the amazing numbers electric motors turn out in the torque department

and the best part of this entire package… for all those who bash FWD audi’s with this sharing its underpinnings with porsche….also it was reported early on by audi that R4 would be mid engined,..this car will be standard RWD or strictly AWD.

It could be a typo and they meant 300 lbs of torque, if it was 3000lb, WOW that would be amazing technology.

yea pickups could benefit the most from electric motors
pickups by design are better at holding batteries all that room under the pickup bed with helps with handling. electric motor tech is already there but the main problem still is batteries as it always has been storing energy in molecular bonds is much easier then in batteries.

the research in to air powered batteries may end this, they can use o^2 in the air as fuel similar to how combustion gets energy from air and gas. so far they have 10x the capacity in tests but there still in experimental stages from what i have read. i have not read much but i think there are two different types now silicon based and carbon.

3000 pounds of torque form electric motors is very much possible and the number has been stated by audi a few times so it true unless they are not telling the truth.
this is why the future of pickup trucks is in electric power.

think about how much torque small electric motors in power tools can make and there very small.

I welcome this car…I hope it’s not ridiculously expensive! A large name company has to bring in full electric vehicles to make them cheaper throughout the board. I like the name…R4…sounds good!

Payton Byrd, I wonder if VW’s TDI would be a suitable generator for this car.

3000 ft/lbs of torque = instantaneous bowel evacuation. When electrics have 500+mile ranges they will be king.

Contrary to popular belief, electric cars will save classic gasoline cars. Just think of how much cheaper gas would be if demand for it dropped 50%.

The sound of gasoline engines is great, but I’ll be happy just as long as electrics are really, really fast.

There’s a reason freight trains have this exact same setup, except they also get an engine driving a generator (just like the Volt). 100 year old technology is finally making it to the car. Now, if they REALLY want this thing to scream they’ll take that T5 and hook it to a VERY powerful generator.

Several manufacturers have been working on synthesizing engine sounds for hybrids and EVs. This would be a very good application of such a technology. I’ve also heard that the electric drivetrain in the Tesla Roadster produces some very unique drivetrain noise that it’s owners enjoy.
