Audi has released 106 new images of its 2008 R8 sports car, which was unveiled in September. On sale later this year, the R8 is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo, and features a 420 horsepower V8. The mid-engined two-seater costs around $100,000 and competes with a wide range of vehicles, including the BMW M6, Porsche 911, and Aston Martin Vantage. It features the first production LED headlamps, and is capable of accelerating to 62 mph in just over four seconds. [See the updated gallery and full report].
