German prestige car maker Audi has once again shown its popularity in its domestic market by sweeping a number of awards in the “Auto Trophy 2005” poll carried out by leading German motoring magazine Auto Zeitung. The automaker enjoyed a triple win in Auto Zeitung’s poll, with a further two models coming home in silver medal position. The Audi A8 picked up 32.9% of votes in the luxury class, almost twice as many as the runner-up. An even higher percentage of the vote went to the A6, which finished top of the executive class for the second year in a row: 34.4% of all voters chose it as their favorite. The runner-up in this category finished almost 15 percentage points behind the A6. The new Q7 was another winner for Audi, this time in the SUV category, capturing 15.3% of the vote.
