Audi today announced pricing for its 2008 TT model line-up. TT Coupe models will arrive in dealerships in April, while TT Roadsters follow in May. Prices will range from $34,800 to $45,900 depending upon model and options.

TT Coupe 2.0T models start at $34,800, while 3.2 quattro models begin at $41,500. TT Roadster 2.0T models have a base price of $36,800, and 3.2 quattro Roadsters start at $44,500. This pricing does not include a $720 destination charge. TT 3.2 models equipped with S tronic gearboxes have a base price $1,400 higher than manual transmission cars. (Coupe: $42,900, Roadster: $45,900).

Both TT model lines will be available in 2.0T or 3.2 quattro form. All 2.0T models will have a 200hp 2.0 TFSI engine mated to a six-speed S tronic gearbox. The 3.2 quattro models will have a 250hp V6 engine and quattro all-wheel drive. A six-speed manual transmission is standard (3.2 quattro only), with a six-speed S tronic gearbox optional.

Standard equipment on the 2008 TT includes such items as leather and Alcantara-covered sport seats, automatic climate control, electromechanical power steering, Audi Concert audio system with in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability, 17” alloy wheels, keyless entry with alarm, cruise control, and a leather-wrapped flat-bottom sport steering wheel.

An extensive list of optional equipment is also available. Audi magnetic ride and 18” alloy wheels improve the car’s handling. An S line package goes one step further by adding more aggressive front and rear styling and 19” alloy wheels with performance tires, and special interior leather trim. An Enhanced Interior package includes Nappa leather covered seats and leather covered interior trip components. TT Roadster models also have an extra storage compartments with this package.

Other options include a DVD-based navigation system with two slots for SD memory cards, Bluetooth phone preparation, Bose premium sound with Sirius satellite radio, Bi-Xenon adaptive headlights, iPod interface, Audi parking system, and Baseball-optic leather interior (Roadster only).

Im sure GM#1 will ruin this thread as well. Is there anyway to get rid of him? he is obviously too childish for this website, as I have been observing this site for the past year I have noticed a steady decline in the general intellect in most comments, if anything just ignore his attempt to compare a G6 to the new TT.

I think the 350Z is a faster auto and less costly. You pay a premium for the Audi symbol on the car. This is a wife car – my wife likes it.

LOL Retarded strike… I like that. I used to own an A3 and im very impressed w/ Audi. The new TT is a bit more masculine than the previous gen. I am sure it will attract more men to the model. Im a 26 yo male and own a M roadster. Even though i own a convertible i will not deny the stigma of it being a womens car. I find that the majority of convertible owners are women or older men. I dont see many guys my age driving around in them. Not sure why i love it! I must have at least one convertible in my garage at all times! Unless im currently driving it!

It’s already got strikes against it, it’s:

- Overpriced
- ugly
- German
- unreliable
- competing with the hot selling new Solstice and Saturn Sky

The last one was a flop, and the new one is going to get its ass handed to it by GM. Odds are not looking too good for this latest Vdub.

DOn’t know where you are minione2006, but here in the US, VW and Audi are in the toilet and the TT is plagued with reliability issues and quality glitches.

“I would never consider buying American, but would always consider German.”

You must not be from America then. This is GM country and German imports are trash.

Sure is a lot of ignorance in the world huh?

GMnumberone4ever is only doing harm to GM’s reputation… GM has been making a nice comeback as of late, and my respect for the company has slighty grown since what it was a few years ago, but the ridiculous comments this guy makes are the epitomy of the stereotypical American ‘Hoorah’ customer… He’s exactly what GM wants to get away from… “We’re the best just because we’re AMERICAN” “if it ain’t Ameri-CAN, it’s ****”… “Everything that isn’t made in detroit is garbage” Just stop it, it’s a bunch of nonsense… If that was the case, American companies would not be hurting right now…

This typical mindset not only hurts GM (and other American companies) it also hurts America. Unfortunately, America has become known globally to be filled with a bunch of obnoxious, untraveled, uneducated citizens… Is that really what America is? NO! it’s not. So lets not reinforce that. GM wants to be respected globally, and of course it wants to keep its American roots, but the company is going to be influenced by other companies in order to compete with them… Do you think the solstice/sky would even be around if it wasn’t for Mazda’s Miata and Honda’s S2000? Do you think the Turbo Ecotec engine would be around if other companies such as Mitsubishi (DSM’s) or Subaru hadn’t had great success with their 2 liter turbo engines? Do you think GM would be reinforcing its high MPG if it wasn’t for foreign companies? Just learn to respect what other companies have to offer, even if you wont buy it.

Nice cheerleading speech Chauncy. Spoken like a true import humper. What you fail to mention, or in fact twist around is GM is the one leading those so called “competitors” to water. Sorry my friend. GM is leading the way in all markets with products like the CTS, Malibu, G6, Aura, Sky, Solstice, STS and V-series. GM leads in trucks, in SUV’s and in crossovers. They are going triunce Toyota in the hybrid market for 2007 and they are going to beat the world to the hydrogen market soon after. What kind of brand do you think has the talent to build the successful HUMMER brand? Do you really think that anyone besides GM could come up with the awesome and highly successful new GMT900’s?

You sound as ignorant as the rest of the import crunchers out there. If you don;t like GM, then you probably shouldn’t be reading car sites because obviously you are not an enthusiast. Preach somewhere else.

GM#1FOREVER is a retard. First of all German cars are WAY more reliable than american cars. Secondly, the solstice and the sky go 0-60 in 7 seconds and the TT goes 0-60 in about 5, so theres no competing there. And the interior in the sky and solstice is no where near the quality of the TT’s. So shut the hell up, but keep on commenting because its fun trashing whatever you say.

Does your birth certificate have a vine number on it? All I am saying is that its good you appreciate GM, but you do need to realize others do make better cars. Just because you can’t afford better cars doesn’t mean there aren’t any… so why don’t you keep your comments to your self? Everybody has said something about your ignorance.

GMnumber04ever if your a true GM fanatic you would admit to GM’s flops, rather than blaming the Germans and Japanese for everything, the TT is a car that has a better record of reliability than a lot of GM’s. Im a huge DCX person yet im able to admit to the flaws in a lot of the car they have, but hell that isn’t going to stop me from liking the company. So, all I have got to say is your GMnumber1posser. And for the rest who care, I’m sure this car will be a hit for Audi, they won’t let this car flop.

The old TT looked great, but I could never get past the idea that you could buy a Golf with the same drivetrain, more space and better build quality for less and you wouldn’t look like a hairdresser. It was a little too much style over substance for me.

For me the new coupe model was a disappointment as it moved toward a more traditional coupe style, with a proportionally longer bonnet, at least the convertible hides this to some degree.

The TT is a very successful car, not the flop that some of you guys partray it as. It’s styling was so avantegarde and the baseball glove interior were classic touches that the competition was scrambling to match. Sure, in the comparos, it got low marks for it’s front heavy handling, and the performance was more “boulevard cruiser” than “backroads bruiser” but the styling and quality were unbeatable.

The way to get…people…to finally insult low quality products…is…to…I’VE GOT IT, GIVE THEM PRAISE! A perfect formula.

As for the new TT, well I love the old TT, it’s gorgeous, I’ve gotten to drive it quite a bit and I really enjoy doing so, people say it’s not sporty enough blahhhhblahblahblah but that only is apparent when driving a Boxster, S2000, and TT back to back. Maybe compared to those 2 it is, but if you happen to drive one on its own, it’s really quite enjoyable. I think the new TT is a good evolutionary design, while the first was clearly revolutionary. I’d consider buying one if I was in the market for such a vehicle.

^^^Second that…I can’t take anyone seriously who calls a perfectly good car a ‘girl’s car’. People say that about the Miata all the time, then they get assraped by one on the autocross course.

Debatable whether a Boxter would be a better deal…pricewise, you’d be talking base Boxter vs. the 3.2 TT. Boxter would likely have the sharper reflexes but that’s about it….TT would be better looking, more comfortable, better ergonomically and better appointed. Additionally, the new model isn’t exactly a dynamic sloth either. Boxter would be the more hardcore car, but let’s face it – beneath those ‘hard core’ Porsche bodies everywhere most of them are tiptronics!

You could do up a Boxter to be as nice as the TT but you’d end up in another price bracket altogether.

I’d take an S2000 over a TT any day…or at least I would have until I read about the ABT supercharger kits for the new TT (ABT TT-R).
