As stated above, part of my business it’s unavoidable to have them around for more than 100k. Housewives? Hardly, one of them is being driven by the country director of US’s second largest mining company. Although I know a heavily customized one costing over $110K owned by a 30 year old mistress of a local Japanese CEO.

seems very expensive for what it is, i know it has all new tech and what not, but its the RS4 engine, a rs4 would be far more practical as well as attract much less attention

if you want a borderline supercar i would look elsewhere

I think Veda lives in the Appalachian Mountains somewhere and has his front yard loaded with rusty old pile o’ **** cars between which he swaps parts in hopes of making one work someday. To differentiate himself from his neighbors who collect rusty Chevies, Veda collects rusty Audis. The bond in the neighborhood is that they all have 3 rusty lime green Frigidaires on their termite-ridden porches loaded with moonshine to loosen them up to play banjo together at nite when the mosquito count is tolerable.

My BMW dealer was backed up for weeks repairing window regulators that popped with the frequency of Iraqi car bombs. Ours popped 3 different times, 2 computer boxes, a muffler that fell apart at 30k, and a full brake job at 25k.
And who the hell is talking about over 100k miles? Were talking about original owners of new high end cars. NOBODY buys a new luxury car and keeps it over 100k.
As for really driving my cars, get a clue. If you were really an enthusiast driver, you wouldn’t have picked the A6. That one’s for housewives.

On the contrary the TT 2.0T is selling for US$95K here. So it’s good enough to contend quality wise with a CLS. If it’s more to your liking then I’ll say the new IS’s buttons are better built than the TT’s.

I can’t believe the idiocy I see on this site… You’re comparing your experience with 2 sample units with the four 2004 A4’s and three 2006 A6’s I currently own? Have you really driven your Audi??? One of the A6 was leaking oil at 15K miles. I prefer Audi more than anything else below 100K but I won’t be a fanboy just because.

Owned 2 new Audi’s in the last 6 years. Absolutely flawless mechanically. Untouchable for build quality and interior design.
Compare that to my wifes 3 series which has been in the shop 5 times (all under warranty, thank god)
Mercedes, comparatively, is CRAP!
Most people will lease these. 4/50k full warranty including services.
Resale and reliability after 50k?? Who knows! It’s a brand new design.
Moral of the story? “Have You Driven An Audi…Lately??”

Veda….asking if a supercar will be okay after 50k miles isnt the best question to ask….how many owners of top super cars, ie; andy lambo, ferrari and maserati, have 50k miles on them? most people buying these high class cars arent using them for daily drivers. if they can afford these cars w/ their heavy insurance premiums, then im sure theyre driving a “cheaper” car…hell a oil change for a Ferrari is anything but “normal” it requires hours worth of work just to do a oil change.

People would easily pay more than $130,000 for this car hands down. A $109,000 sticker price is more than generous. jonstew… this is an audi, made from luxury components. no on wants a stripped down cheap interior audi. no one wants this car to race at the track.

It does look beautiful and I applaud the inclusion of a 6-speed manual transmission. For $110,000+ I’d still go with a Porsche 911 GT3 or Turbo: race proven cars with a lot of experience having gone into the driving characteristics.

Let’s see how it does within the first year of sales.

I thought there’s an article in Edmunds comparing this car with the Porsche turbo. At this price point there are plenty of competitions (the new CL, Aston, Porsche, Maserati…) and unless it has a balanced or more luxury than performance stance, it may be a tough sell. People are so used of paying less than a Bimmer and Benz and Audi’s reputation for poor reliability doesn’t help either (compare flimsy buttons in the new TT with the CLS). Technical marvel and aggressive style but not a breakthrough in real world performance. Most will probably go for a CL for ultimate luxury or the Vantage for bragging rights or even the Maserati for italian flair. Why pay so much for an Audi and being a copy of the Gallardo, is it even ok after 50K miles? That’s probably why they’re limiting the number of units for US. Having said that, if you’re a psycho all day racer like me, then yea you’ll definitely get one someday if not tomorrow.

I was able to sit one at Sebring this year, and its a really nice car, in person the car is a lot more stunning than the pictures. (of course) It was one of the pace cars there and it seemed to grab everyones attention, people were running taking pictures of it and stuff, and suprisingly it even caught my dad’s interest.

who cares veda? the people who actually enjoy driving and will be looking to scramble money together for this awesome car will be going for the 6-speed manual, while those who have an assload of money burning a hole in their pocket and just want something fancy will pay the automatic.
