Audi Roadjet the basis for new A4?

Have you seen the 2008 Audi A4? According to AutoExpress, you may have. The British magazine is reporting that the Roadjet concept shown in Detroit earlier this week is the basis for the next-generation A4. “The Roadjet is very close to how the production A4 will be, and has been unveiled to test public reaction,” the report said. In addition to a regular sedan offering, the A4 line will also include a vehicle much like the Roadjet — a hatchback-style wagon. Reflecting a general increase in size across the executive car market, the Roadjet measures 110mm longer, 80mm wider and 120mm taller than the current- generation A4, and with an increased wheelbase, it is much more spacious. The Roadjet also features a 300hp engine and DSG transmission — both of which could make it to a production model.

Man, how much larger are they going to make the next A4? The current one already looks like a boat compared to the 3 series, and it drives like one too. Can’t feel the road at all. Why would Audi be making LARGER sedans if all the critics say that the A4 already feels too large? It makes no sense.
