IMO, it will sell if they (1)BRING IT OVER (2)keep the base price around 36K,loaded under 41k
I’ll take that over a 328i/330i anyday(335 starts at 43k)

might as well STOP hoping for this car, will NEVER happen here in the US. Name one good selling hatchback that has had any kind of success in the US. you will quickly run out of namebadges cause there are pretty much none. Plus this car would eat the hell out of GTI sales and even though they try to do their own thing, no way would and niche market GTI have to deal with famliy competition

I want to appoligize to everyone for saying the same thing all the time. Its not my fault that I really don’t know anything. You are all probably saying to yourselves – isn’t Opel German? Wasn’t there a recent article saying Audi is setting record sales? Isn’t GM the company who’s bond status is rated as junk? Oh well, I was told GM is the best, and because I am incapable of independent thought, I continue to believe it. So if you read anything else from me, just ignore it. It is worth your time.

Audi needs to build cars here in the states to offset the high exchange rate and build the A3s here….I think with a slightly lower price they could do even better. VAG probably doesnt want this car to encroach upon the GTi or upcoming R32 that it is based off of.

with the top end A3 already surpassing the 40,000 dollar mark it would seem that a loaded S3 would be extremly close to the S4 in terms of price. which, IMO isn’t a good thing

The lights are different because here in Europe we get a choice of 3 door or 5 door(sportback). The 3 door has the lights in the pic and the 5door has the other style.

Those are Euro A3 tail lights, maybe the US A3 like the US Rabbit gets different tail lights to the EUro versions

Hmm… an incredibly sharp handling, fiery and stylish german hot hatch, or a wallowy gutless flimsy whale.. let me think. The previous generation S3 was a stormer, with the only downside being the slightly vague steering – not inaccurate, just not as communicative as it should have been. I have no doubts this one will be brilliant, especially if it gets the steering weight and precision of the evil new RS4

#3 is dead on. The A3 3.2Q can easily run into the mid $50’s (Canadian pricing) with a few options. For the same price, I can do an an A4 2.0T Avant with almost every option AND still have enough left over for a GIAC or APR chip.

Pricing an S3 will be difficult due to overlap with the A4. Already the A3 is pricey in the 3.2L version.

It will have a 2.0l TFSI with 265 bhp.
I hope that RS3 will also come out with 4.2l V8 and 344bhp or better 420 bhp
