You guys, my comments got messed up. My comment in this article applies to the 'XM Radio' article above, not to the diesels.

And to answer your question AUTONUTT, GM will get its diesels thru a little Italian company called VM Motori and their partership with Isuzu (they still maintain a relationship)

There sure is a lot of talk and enthusiasm about diesels lately, but so far, none of them have actually hit our shores. I wonder how the driving experience is compared to a gasoline engine? And does the extra fuel economy more than offset the increase in the per-gallon cost of diesel fuel over regular gasoline? In my area, diesel is about $.30/gal higher than regular.

The pessimist in me says that as soon as diesels become popular (and probably even sooner), the oil companies are going to go " Ah-hah! Increased demand = increased prices! We'll make even MORE money off of the public!". Assuming I'm right, that will quickly erase any cost of driving benefit diesels may presently have over gasoline-powered cars.

I hope I'm wrong.

Commodore Porsche is buying into WV, Audi is not buying into GM. Where GM going to get diesel? Duramax will not fit (I don't mean Honda)! BTW, we'll see that motor here in 2009 model year, based on this story. And why A4 not A6? With this torque you would want it into heavier car to help to motivate it and produce decent economy.
