It cost already about $100 to fill up SUV in California. The gas around SF about $4/gallon and if tank is near 25 gallons (which is not unusual for SUV) here is century worth of bill.
Maybe Audi means that it is first 2 seater diesel? BMW have decent accommodations for 4 people (2 with shorter legs and preferably not very tall front seat occupants for 3 series). Alfa’s do have great diesel mills, and they produce more ponies and torque but I believe their engines of higher (2.2L) displacement. Anyway, Audi does stretching diesel significance here (or LLN since who on my side of the pond aware of cars in Europe? Very few do).

and now this is gonna hurt, a rather ‘old’ Mercedes-Benz C30 CDI AMG SportCoupe, a model from 2002 with a 231 HP Diesel engine would eat this Audi any day of the week and twice on the weekends !! LOL

Seems a little slow. Renault, M-B and BMW have all released new 2.0 diesels all with 200 Hp and over 320 lb/ft torque seems they are about to lose their leadershipd.

I wonder whats going to happen with all those guys with giant SUV’s when gas prices hit even higher. By next year it will cost about $100 to fill up a Yukon or any other similiar type SUV. Used Escalades are a bargain but who would want to spend $400 a month on gas?? Are we the only country in the world that doesn’t see the benefits of diesel? European’s are smart and investing alot of R&D in diesel technology. I guess this is typical of American style business. Never a long term outlook, only instant gratification.
