Audi teases e-tron GT

The sleek four-door EV will serve as the \"sporty spearhead\" of Audi\'s electrification initiative.

Audi has released a teaser image for the e-tron GT, a performance-focused EV that stands atop the company's electrification roadmap.

The sketch shows a sleek four-door silhouette, apparently providing more interior space than the Porsche Mission E 2+2 that will ride upon the same platform architecture.

"We interpret sportiness very progressively with our fully electric e-tron GT, and this is how we will take our high-performance brand Audi Sport into the future," says Audi head Rupert Stadler.

Production is expected to begin early in the 2020s, at which time the GT will serve as the "sporty spearhead" of Audi's electrified lineup. The company is planning to offer more than 20 such models by 2025.
