I said Jazz when I meant the Honda City Anyway Honda is still on top

I dont think they mentioned Acura in the sales and once the new TL comes to dealers (I asked and they said late Sept) I'm sure it will reclaim its #2 entry level luxury car status, the last one was.

What domestic loyalist fail to realize is that when it comes down to it people want a car with style but they also want reliability which is GM Ford and Chrylsers biggest issue Honda Toyota and now Hyundai Kia have both and that is why they are not in a bind

GM sales declines are based on their commitment to reducing the number of fleet sales, period. Retail-wise, their product has never been more popular and award winning than now. GM is a class leader in every category it competes in and will continue to shine for many decades.

Porshces decline is because they build shitty cars and gas guzzling pigs like the Cayenne. Everyone knows that the Vette wipes the floor with overpriced VW's all day long and that when it comes to performance, quality and reliability, GM is miles ahead of German crap.

I'd like to know, too. I don't mind the stars, but I do mind the deletions and removal of the offenders. However, I think I understand why LLN is being so persnickety: the advertisers may have asked them to keep the site clean.

Beatus: I'd like to know what 02WRX had to say- I'm assuming it was directed at my comment- but, for once, I was in no way attempting to be derogatory towards Subaru. Nissan is the wildcard in this whole fiasco, and I agree with you. I saw a guy in the right lane obviously breaking in his new V6 Altima coupe on the way home tonight. Some real nice shade of aqua. Carlos Ghosn is no dummy. I'd like to see LLN's Mark Elias talk to that guy.

BMW had an increase of 1. That's just kind of funny. Nothing against BMW, but "1 is the loneliest number". I'm sorry, I just found 1 to be funny.

A friend of mine sold his 335 convertible hardtop with 20,000 miles for the same price as he paid for it new - to a DEALER! Apparently, it's a rare model or something. I'm not up on BMWs, so I don't know all the specs and letters and everything. But to get that much back means that the car is still in high demand, so people are still buying luxury cars, and paying premiums for them. I see a lot of BMWs where I live, mostly on the Strip though.

Nissan posting a 13.6% increase is interesting. Honestly, if they are taking from the lack of Honda and Toyota, that surprises me. I would think that people would go for Focus after Yaris and Fit were sold out. But if people are buying Versa and Sentra instead, then it's interesting. Also, they may be buying Altima hybrids, since it's a decent car. I have no idea what the biggest Nissan seller is, but I will say I sure am seeing a lot of them on the road lately. Altimas, Maximas, 350Zs, Pathfinders, Titans, you name it. I see a lot of Nissans where I live.

I see very few Subarus where I live, though.

BTW, Hyundai, resident Toyota-wannabe #8, even with ANOTHER new model in the lineup (that makes 10 or 11, I've lost count, as a maker of small cars (no trucks), is having another GM-esque year, losing sales YTY AGAIN.
Last year they failed to reach 500k units, and AGAIN, adding cars to the lineup has changed nothing, as sales continue to fall.
When you have to put 2k on the hood of your 13k car, before I even hit the ghost town, I mean dealership, you might want to refocus your BMW/Lexus sales startegy on something a little more feasible.
Now back to Fantasy Island.

@ CARRESEARCHER

Thats not necessarily true. We are lacking in the lease department at my dealership and it seems BMW North America in general but we've got a lot of people trading in there leases and purchasing new cars.

When the diesels hit the US in a few months I'll be interested to see how they do. Even though its two higher priced models the 335d and x5 35d. If the damn US oil companies werent so greedy as to raise Diesel prices higher than regular petrol, considering the fact that it costs less to make Diesel than petrol.

1115, I dont think the newly uglified crApuras are not selling due to lack of availability.

Per Honda's press release linked below the new and improved TSX sold 12% fewer units than last year's cute model, RLs barely moved over 300 units, TLs held flat (probably because people want to get them while they still look nice ... before the smiley grill adorns them). Acura's gonna drop that stupid new look inside 2 years, believe me.

Subaru is a fairly small chunk of the pie so even a double digit sales increase isn't really significant- other than to Subaru, of course. Nissan may just be the beneficiary of Honda's and/or Toyota's lack of product. The domestics need to be hoping a Kotex factory blows up in order to stop the bleeding.

Porsche drop is probably due to the model switch over.
New 2009 911 production is just starting. Dealer inventories
might be light.
