i feel for the aussies. irwin was my childhood hero, and i was crushed to hear of his death, but now this… i dont know what to say other than Rest in Peace, you, the greatest of your kind.

this was a setup. That corner has been known to be dangerous for a long time. Peter was intentionally placed at that point in the race. His suspension must have been tempered.

This was the Australian Peter Brock, not the American, ‘Pete’ Brock, designer of the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe. The two were friends, and when Peter crashed he was driving a replica of the Coupe. RIP to a great driver.

Yeah, I recently read an article on Brock a short while back. He was a pretty amazing guy. I hope he was havin one helluva race!
That does look like a Shelby Cobra Daytona. I also thought maybe a Datsun Z. But if Brock helped design the Daytona replica, I think that’s it. I can’t imagine what he has hopped up in that thing.

Brocky was a great man on and off the track. You could not ask for a greater role model, he always had such a fantastic attitude. RIP Peter Perfect.

Can’t believe Brock and Irwin both leave us in the same week, a massive blow for Australia.
