Australian tuner Walkinshaw Performance has tuned the Holden Cruze hatchback to produce over 100 more horsepower than the standard car. At 241 horsepower, the car's little Ecotec 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-four now makes 172 horsepower per liter and more than 100 more than the standard engine's 138.

The torque also grows significantly, though by a less impressive percentage. It makes 229lb-ft, up from 148. Walkinshaw Performance worked with Victoria-based HPF to tune the engine. The company claims there has been no compromise to the car's drivability, though putting this much power through the front wheels is likely to cause torque steer.

The tuner offers a number of packages for the Cruze, though this model has pretty much all of them installed as a showcase. They include larger wheels and tires, as well as suspension and braking upgrades.

The Cruze hatchback is built in Australia as well, with a wagon version available in those markets as well. North America makes do with a sedan body style of the Cruze, which is known as a Chevrolet on these shores.

Walkinshaw, which has offices in the U.K. and Australia, is involved in many forms of motorsports, including on road courses and off-road.
