General Motors is attempting to decide how to market its Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave vehicles, according to Mike Jackson, GM North America’s vice president of marketing and advertising. Mr. Jackson told Automotive News the automaker has yet to decide whether it will refer to the three platform-mates as “crossovers,” SUVs, or something else.
Detroit marketing and creative consultant Gary Topolewski told the publication “crossover” is a term understood by those in the auto industry, but most consumers might not be familiar with it. People ask “is it an SUV or a truck or station wagon,” Topolewski said.
