The problem has been that since the CDN dollar has shot up, which has prompted many to go south for deals because of the lag in repricing due to many factors including those I posted yesterday at 9:26 pm, CDN dealers are losing sales and are whining about it.

Still with me, monkeys? Unfortunately, of the three parties (consumers, CDN dealers, and U.S. dealers), only two can consummate a deal, and one loses. Certain companies, to try and keep status quo, have instructed American dealers NOT to sell to Canadians to import back to Canada. As much as the American dealers would love to sell to Canadians, as these sales would benefit falling numbers due to the economic slowdown, they lose too. Now, all three parties end up losing instead of just one.

This recent instruction to U.S. dealers is against the law, which should be proven in this case. This refusal to sell is over and above the existing rules that certain companies like Honda and Acura, Chrysler and Mazda have implemented to discourage cross-border shopping by limiting or denying warranty coverage.

So you see, stupid monkeys, it’s not all about the price disparity (which is what I mentioned yesterday at 9:26 pm) which takes time to iron out … this issue can and should be overcome by driving south and buying from the U.S. … the REAL issue is the auto companies’ dirty-handed stonewalling.
