Ever wonder what goes into making a concept car? How about one of the most sought-after concept cars of the year? At the GM Design Center in Warren, Michigan, the Chevrolet Camaro Concept was born, and like many show cars, its production process is nothing like that of a regular car. The Camaro concept itself is something of a fusion of new and old — and so was its creation. Computer controlled tools and extensive hand sculpting were both used in the creation of the initial full-size clay model, and similar processes were employed when it came time to build the actual show car. You know, its actually a pretty decent attempt. Too bad GM will be bankrupt and out of business before the car ever reaches production. GM should have started trying years ago, instead of building Pontiac Azteks.

does this mean they will be bringing back the firebirds as well? and if so when can we expect a prototype?

I’d expect Pontiac to announce the new Firebird when Burt Reynolds announces his involvement in Smokey and the Bandit Part 4, and David Hasselhoff pitches his idea for “Knight Rider, the New Millenium” to TV execs. Start saving your pennies now, you might well have the best ride in the whole trailer park…if the tornado doesn’t wipe it out.

Oh crap, I just checked the IMDB and David Hasselhoff is coming out with a Knight Rider movie in 2006. The world is going to hell.

looks like a great looking car ,but as usual to the typical, cynical american car buyer-it isnt made abroad-so they wont buy it. even after gm provided millions of jobs to americans over the decades..lets just move EVERYTHING out of the country , so no one here can work..or buy !! we are already heading to a third-world status in 10 years anyway.

Looks a darn sight better than the Dodge Challenger concept, which was evidently created using the original drawings, a Xerox and a fat marker pen.

I love everything except the nose. The opening should cut straight across the body like the ‘69 does. That droopy grille is starting to annoy me.

You guys at GM should really take a look at Kris Horton’s 5th generation Camaro and start building that before Ford makes you guys look even worse
