Yeah, ok… The classic Mustang in this POS movie is powered by a turbo charge 4 cylinder import motor! A good way to ruin a classic American Icon.

POS movie? I’m really excited by this movie. It has nothing to do with the previous movies and its showing a great deal of cool action and stylish cars. I’m excited, but I’m in my twenties.

I want to see the out takes. How many cars got mangled. The movie, I’ll see it knowing it will be short on story and substance. But I don’t care. Maybe I’ll listen to the Ipod and wake up for the driving scenes.

It’s just like Gran Turismo 4 – another opportunity for product placement for Japanese manufactuers.
GT4 was supposed to be tabout the history of the automobile, yet the idiots put 32 Skylines in the game, let alone tons of Asian cars that came nowhere CLOSE to making history. No BMW M1, no Dodge Superbee, no Chevrolet Bel Air……instead we got the Mazda Carol and the Scion xB. I see this movie as nothing more than Japan shining the spotlight on itself in an attempt to lure brainless mid-20s males into buying RX7s and Silvias.

#5, it is a real Stang they used 15 for this movie, but all of the action cars had V8s in the. Only the “hero” car has the Skyline engine in it.

They need a new angle at this point, and since the actual plot does not matter, it should be the Tokyo porn, drive sideways all over town in a race to knock the bottom out of that those asian chicks in the Cathloc school girls uniforms. They could enlighten the pacific rim to the Hummer. That would be a real Zen moment.

I’m in my twenties, a car fanatic and quite disinterested in this POS movie… maybe its because I’d rather drive a stylish GTO, ‘Stang or Charger than a tricked out Civic or some other “stylish” four-banger japanese rice rocket. If I wanted to drift I’d buy an M3 like the one we saw on this site over memorial day weekend (or the RS4 that bested it overall). Now that’s style and substance!

Sadly yet another example of Hollywood taking something “real” and whoring it out. REAL street racing didn’t include crap like vinyl graphics and massive wings except for those tools who were all show and no go. Rarely did you find someone who blew 10 grand on bodykits and graphics rather than “go” bits. It’s movies like F & F and 2F 2F that turned this culture into the cop-baiting, rice-inducing ****hole it is now. Even the old-school racers from the 60’s/70’s have turned on the scene because of the retards these crap movies inspire.
Damn you Hollywood, damn you to hell!!!!!!

#4 2f2f grossed 123.8 million thats a lot of money even its not as much as the first -the franchise has the legs to gross another 100 easy – putting the production together is simply introducing a different kind of sport having fun and just like any other business to make money – just because you wont remember it 5 years from now doesnt mean that these guys pockets wont still be getting fat because as much as everybody wants to hate on the technical aspects of the movie (myself included) you absolutely cannot knock the profit making margins that are available during the summers and all the people who wont mind spending 10 bucks to see hot women cool cars and bad story lines – to anybody who can argue a companies decision to do anything get off your horse and do it better otherwise your opinions stay right here and are forgotten by tomorrows post. i will prolly wait for the dvd but then wait the dvd money brings in more than theater releases so am i part of the problem or do i just like the pretty cars DOH!!!!! damn # 17 beat me to the punch on revenue now i look like a biter

WOW… another SEMA marketing exercise. First you had “The Sad and the Ridiculous”, then “2 Sad 2 Ridiculous” and now “Sad and the Ridiculous, Totally Wiffed.” Come on, the only reason to make these stupid movies is to convince the younger generation that these “econo boxes” that everyone used to laugh at are worthy of building up into an extremely dangerous street rod. Movies have become great marketing exercises…and every one of these young kids that watch it actually believe what they see in these movies. I have kids in Civics, Neons and Subarus wanting to race me in my Porsche at every stoplight. My friends with Ferraris and Lamborghinis have the same issue as well. When will these kids learn that what you see in a movie is just that…a movie stunt, not reality.
What’s next??? “The Sad and Ridiculous takes on the Autobahn?”

Yeah, keep talking. Can any of you drift like this? No. Drifting like this is some of the most intense driving that can be done. I’d love to see any of you try. I know kids in high school that drift, and damn can they drift well. They have cars that CAN beat Porsches. ****, you could tune a Volvo to beat a Porsche (in a straight line of course) if you wanted to.

Drifting is indeed a good test of the driver’s abilities in regards to car control. It’s not easy and when done properly, it can be entertaining to watch. For about 5 minutes. After that it gets repetitive. A pet peeve is when drifters think that it’s racing. Bzzzt, wrong. Drifting is definitely not racing, just like figure skating is not racing – it’s a display of ability judged, not by a stopwatch like real racing, but by judges – hence, drifting is not racing.

Drifting is a motorsport, but not racing. Just like ice skating, you can actually race around the rink, or you can figure skate. Drifting is the figure skating of motorsports. Thats not to insult drifters. If they are having fun and do it safely (not on public streets) then more power to them. To think that the drifing scene is any more or less legitimate than NASCAR or F1 is a close minded eliteist attitude.
Do you really think that people in the import tuning, street racing, and drifiting scenes enjoy the image of their hobby that these films create?
Pete, sooner or later your going to pull up to the light with a tuned out import that’s going to woop your Porsche’s ass. You sound like an old snob who’s angry that the poor underclass kids are having some fun.
