Bentley unveils high-performance Azure T

Bentley has taken the wraps off its high-performance Azure T at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. Featuring a twin-turbo V8 putting out 500 horsepower and 450 lb-ft. of torque, the Azure T is Bentley’s highest-performance Azure convertible and also its most well-equipped.

The Azure T features unique 20 inch bright-finish alloy wheels, a retractable hood ornament, dark tint matrix upper and lower grilles, a jewel fuel filler cap, dual exhaust and an impressive list of 42 exterior colors - though we’d bet Bentley would be delighted to spray your Azure T in any shade you want.

Inside, the Azure T is draped in diamond-quilted leather (25 unique hide choices) with engine-turned and knurled aluminum bits throughout. Bentley offers a choice of eight unbleached wood veneers, as well.

The Azure T also can be equipped with a higher-zoot, 1,100 Watt Naim for Bentley audio system with SD-card capability and a larger screen than the standard Azure. With subwoofers located in the passenger footwells, we don’t doubt Bentley’s notion that this is the most impressive audio system you’ll find in a droptop.

Underhood, the Azure T gets the Arnage T’s powertrain, including its 6 3/4 liter V8 with the aforementioned power boost to 500 horsepower. With the standard six-speed ZF automatic, the Azure T hits 60 in 5.2 seconds and can continue on to a 179 mph top speed.

Makes sense to unveil this at the LA auto show. Bentley probably sells most of its cars in So Cal, and
Saudi Arabia.

I think if they redesigned the whole car-it would sell much much more OR they could just market it with Jeremy Clarksons video of burnouts!!!

I love this car! i think it is perfect. it has that look like you have succeeded in life, and now your spending money to ride in luxury, not just an expensive car to show off because you can go fast and crash in it. its perfection to me

@howsmydriving: It’s not my area, but you’re on the right track, from what I understand. Strong sales in southern California, Florida, and the Middle East—esp. UAE.

This car is the size of an aircraft carrier and it probably handles like on, but I love it!

Beautifully done Bentley! The only thing that has me, is the interior… What a boring interior for such an extravagant car! Still, you gotta love that 42 ext. color pallet.

Peter g, it is big but, boy…it sure can go. Has anyone ever watched that Top Gear episode, where the guy takes a Brooklands out on the track, and blows out one of the rear wheels?
