Bentley's
EXP 9 F concept SUV - which recently made its Chinese debut at the Beijing Motor Show - has yet to be officially approved for production by parent company Volkswagen, but the British automaker is already calling for strong sales.
Speaking with
Bloomberg on the sideline of the Beijing show, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Duerheimer revealed that the company expects to sell 3,000 units of the SUV annually. The road-going version of the EXP 9 F is expected to launch in 2015.
"At present, we are working out our internal Bentley business case and it looks very optimistic," Duerheimer said. He added that he expects the Bentley SUV to list from about $210,000, easily making it the most expensive SUV on the market.
If Bentley is able to sell 3,000 units of the SUV per year, it would represent quite a boost to the automaker's global sales. Bentley is
currently on pace to sell 7,000 vehicles this year.
