Bentley has unveiled its race-ready Continental GT3 at the Paris Motor Show. Although technically labeled a concept car, Bentley says the Continental GT3 will likely enter racing competition in late 2013.
Based largely on the road-going Continental GT Speed, the Continental GT3 ups the ante by means of an ultra-aggressive body kit with bulging fenders filled with race slicks and multi-spoke wheels that hide enormous brakes. An aggressive front splitter and large rear wing are also part of the racing kit.
Bentley isn't dishing out any details on the Continental GT3's drivetrain, but the big coupe is likely packing aÂ
modified version of the GT Speed's W12 engine. However, expect the Continental GT3 to improve upon the GT Speed's 616 horsepower. Whatever the case, the Continental GT3 will send its power exclusively to the rear wheels.
Bentley isn't quite ready to reveal the exact date of its return to racing, but the British automaker says it is aiming to return to the track “towards the end of 2013.”
