BMW 1-series hatch spied

In addition to the revealing spy photos it captured of the new BMW 3-series coupe, AutoCar has also published some images of a fully undisguised 1-series 3-door prototype. The car is expected to become available in Germany in April or May. Other variants of the 1-series are also said to be in development. These include a coupe, convertible, and roadster. It’s unclear which models will be available here in North America, but BMW has hinted that the coupe and convertible are the most likely candidates for a U.S. launch. Read on for more images….

Nice find! I wonder how well the market will take to a hatchback BMW like this. I guess is this is compared to Mercedes’s Kompresser hatchback. We’ll see.
