Factory stock, with a 360cfm turbo and only 12lbs of boost (.87 BAR) my Subaru EJ20 motor made 118hp/liter and 100lbs torque per liter, in 2002, with a six-year-old boxer engine design. Now it makes over 150hp/liter with the same displacement and the same turbo, just methanol injection and a tune! NOTHING in the EcoHype motor is worth bragging about. Sticking it in a Taurus does not absolve the Taurus of being another unimaginative, primitively engineered US brick.
