BMW lets it’s pride stand in the way. Remember the confusing iDrive? What about the awful rear end of the 7-Series? Can anyone say X3? BMW is lost. BMW is crowding a segment overcrowded within its own line-up. They should nix this.

NOW your coming on board, nick! Exactly what it’s supposed to be, but take out the word “wagon”. Wagonphobia is why SUV’s/Crossovers exist in the first place. If so many weren’t averse to anything “wagonish”, there’d be no need for things like the GT.

To inject a little real world experience into the bashfest here, so far, interest in the new GT has been strong. As to the “why” question, it combines 7 series interior luxury with crossover cargo capacity and higher seating position that most SUV buyers indicate they like. Great engine, rear seat comfort, etc.
As for ugly, eye of the beholder. Most of you ranted on and on how ugly the Panamera was (before even seeing one in person). So far, our customer reaction has been 85% positive and weve sold every one we can get our hands on.

Jesus!! 63K for a base model?? Just like 90K for an X6 hybrid. Is BMW on a quest to make the most expensive cars on the road or something? Even Mercedes-Benz isn’t this bad. And I always thought their cars were pricey.

Seems like BMW is continueing to develop models for a market that has been vanishing at an alarming rate. The double-income household flush with home equity to use as a bank vault and a portfolio filled with rising valued stock. Is it a smart move on BMW’s part to offer these products now with low sales expectations and hopes that the economies of the World pick up over the next couple of years and spoiled people will resume their extravagant purchases as soon as they can and beat down the door’s at BMW dealerships? (damn long sentence there).

$70k is a lot of cash for such a weird car. I can think of a bunch of other vehicles I would rather buy for that much coin.
