AutoWeek has published a brief review of the BMW 6-Series coupe, with commentary from a number of long-term owners. “I have never gotten so many compliments from strangers on how cool the car looks,â€? writes one owner, echoing the sentiments of many journalists and enthusiasts that this is the best implementation of BMW ’s new design language yet. It’s not just the 645Ci’s looks that deserve praise, however — its performance and handling are also very respectable. “Very stable and extremely quiet at 100 mph-plus,â€? says another owner. “It’s the best non- Porsche I’ve ever owned,â€? a third owner writes. Still, there are some complaints even from the most proud of owners. “The iDrive baffles me,â€? says one owner. “I am not intimidated by it, just underwhelmed. It seems quite inefficient for tasks normally at your fingertips, such as tuning the radio or programming in stations.â€? The AutoWeek staff also had some concerns about the SMG transmission, which made getting a good launch difficult.
