If you want comfort buy Lexus 460
If you want badass buy Audi S8
If you want luxury buy Jag XJ or VW Phaeton
-
But if you want everything in one car buy Mercedes S63
-
BMW tries to be everything but completely fails.

I'm really looking forward to this car...the S-Class is currently my favorite full size luxury car, but I'd prefer the 7-Series take that place being a more sporty car in general. Just make up the current faults.

Cadillac just started putting decent interiors in their cars I love how people are so eager for GM to makeit that they forget every POS they made and all the recalls that injured people due to shoddy craftmanship

As the last four, I'll add the fifth ... this interior is laughable. It is horrid. It is beyond pathetic. It is an embarassment. What is old is old again. No level of performance, chick magnetism, or anything will EVER appeal to me if THAT interior accompanies the vehicle. Seriously, it looks like SHIT, CRAP, POO, FECES from many decades ago. Should have left it there.

It has a BMW badge on it... so most people will praise it. However, had it a domestic badge there would be an entire page of insults. The interior shot of the Invicta was a thousand times more handsome and we all saw which little douche bags had negative things to say about it.... they just keep digging their own holes deeper and deeper, yet amazingly they think their opinions are worth a damn... too funny.

I would love to read the comments if Cadillac were to put such a shitty, 1970's outdated interior in one of their new models.

How much money do they get for this ugly unreliable thing?

That interior is ugly, especially for what the car costs. I didn't like the old 7-series interior, and this new one isn't any better.

It's almost like all the bad interior designers from GM's studios in the 1980's and 1990's left GM to go work at BMW.

Smooth & clean I like it I like that they put the shift lever back where it belongs
That level is funny bc its electronic and you have move it fwd for reverse
I think with this 7 Series they calmed the outlandish styling down which is a good thing
BMW's are trendsetters but sometimes they go too far and the last 7 series, while a great seller was evidence of that

BMWs, and especially the lame-ass 7 series...SUCK!
They are boring crap mobiles without the slightest hint of automotive passion.
The only reason people buy them is to try and show off their income.
If you want a very cool large luxury sedan then bypass than teutonic junk and get a Maserati Qporte. If that is too steep for you then get a Jaguar XJ...the best deal in luxo cars today. I could even see getting a new Caddy before a BMW.
German cars have become trite.
BTW: prophylactic insult---> if anyone disagrees with me then you are obviously an ignorant know-nothing pimple-faced punk.
 Period.

From what I can see the new 7 series looks much better than the current version. I hope that the square tailpipes get reshaped. I don't understand what is going on lately in terms of these gigantic grills. They are all hideous. While I do like this new 7 better, it looks to bland. It's too bad the CS design hasn't been applied to the 7 and if it has, I can't see it.

Rodd (jjt): Wrong. The 7 series has been plagued with electrical design problems that it almost killed a woman who got trapped inside. It also has a myriad of weird problems. One of the higher ups in BMW actually admitted to me that the E Class is a better buy than the 7 series. The only thing I give credit for is for its sharp and nimble handling. The S Class also has minor but annoying problems but not to the degree of the 7 series.

Golf, same here, I thought it looked like an S80 for sure. Talk about reigning in the design, wow. It went from thinking totally outside the box, and in fact, inventing (as much as any car designer ever "invents" anything new) a style that others have copied, at least copied parts of, to this thing. But I'll have to wait to see it, but it looks fairly standard to me so far. As an architect, I think this looks like a strip mall of a car compared to a cutting-edge European building-as-machine like the previous generation did. This one won't make the headlines as much, and making the headlines, good or bad, is what it's about.

I think Bangle lost it completely. I see a lot of influence from Audi (honker of grill) and Chrysler from 60's (creases along the body of the car). From what I can see none of it ties nicely. Granted, we can't see the form behind camo, but considering his screwup with Z4, especially after Z3, series 5, 6 & 7 I think he shold stay in his gay closet and didn't venture out. Then again - he may be totally straight since he has no taste whatsoever.

ratty_672, I like the flame surfacing too, it's different. A shame that the automotive media bashes them continually over it though. Sometimes they fail to realize that liking the style of a car is purely a matter of opinion, regardless of whose it is.
