ehh, whatever. driving the old 7 felt great…i can only imagine what this will feel like. I will hold final judgment once the new Audi A8 comes out. But so far, i favor this new 7 over the S-class. Audi is in first place with me.

I agree some of the design themes do remind me of several other cars but that’s not too surprising these days. I think the overall shape works much better all around then the previous model. I’m glad they fixed the rear end finally, the last one was absolutely hideous. At first I thought the grille was a little ostenstatious as well but it works on this car, very assertive yet elegant.

This car would outhandle an Audi A8 too even with that car’s all-wheel drive. It’s still a BMW people, and who’s not going to love that Turbo V8!

I was parked behind one of these yesterday. It took me a minute to realize it’s not actually a Lexus LS460… (the tag gave it away, lol)

It really doesn’t feel like much of a make over. With the past few 7 models, you really had to look closely to notice the difference in models. One thing I couldn’t swallow is the attempt to make this car both a driver’s, and a rear-passenger’s car at the same time. It’s either this or that! Either I’m going to be in the back, so you’d make everything geared towards that, or I’ll be in the driver’s seat, so the attention should go there.

Doing both detracts from the quality of the build, in my opinion.

It seems like lately BMW has no clue what it’s doing, this car is absolutely awful, X6 is a worse looking SUV ever, maybe even worse than Aztec. The new Z4 is horrible too, if the new 5 series will be just as bad as this I will start hating BMW.

not much of a makeover. the LED addition in the headlight cluster looks like a complete afterthought. just compare to audi where it is a deliberate design element.

this car segment has always been a bit of a conundrum to me. i’m not interested in having someone drive me around. ever. and the weight to lug around just to gain a little extra leg room in the back, where i’m not sitting. conundrum. now stuff all that in a 5 and i’m in.

Eh, kinda blah. The interior doesn’t look as nice as I would expect for a car starting out at 84K. I’m sure it looks nice in person and well built, but it kinda is plain in black and looks not much different that the 3 series. In pictures the 2010 Buick LaCrosse looks better, and that’s a freakin’ Buick!

Maybe they should design something more intersting design-wise. The Phaeton makes for a great car to copy from for interiors, I was in a ’04 W12 and I’ve never seen something so amazing.

The LS and A8 are officially the best looking in the segment. The LS has the best soft, smooth look. The A8 has the best aggressive look to it.

I would not call it beautiful. Side view somewhat “Lexusish”. This car use to be “the leading man” in the movie, not this one but one 10 years ago.
