Proving that there is no limit to the number of special variants that can come from luxury automakers, BMW has announced yet another new range of models.
The new models, dubbed the M Performance Automobiles, are destined to make their world debut at the Geneva Motor Show, which kicks off on March 8, 2012.
BMW says that these models are intended to bridge the gap between the full-fledged M models, such as the M3 or M5, and the lesser standard models with current sport packages. The idea is to deliver more engaging, highly sporty vehicles without the full price premium of an M model, or the drawbacks of harsher ride qualities.
“We are targeting our efforts at customers looking for more emotionality and more performance, but who don’t want to forgo the everyday usability of their cars,†said Dr Friedrich Nitschke, president of BMW M GmbH.
The new models will even include diesel models, as confirmed by Nitschke.
