Despite growing concerns about the European market, BMW's sales continue to hum along at a record pace. The Munich-based automaker set a new July sales record last month and is currently on pace to shatter the company's full-year sales record.

The BMW Group, which includes BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce, recorded 135,537 global sales in July, representing a 5 percent increase over the same period a year earlier and a new company record for the month. July's strong showing pushed BMW's seven-month sales total to 1,036,088 vehicles, marking the fist time the company has ever sold more than 1 million vehicles in the first seven months to start a year.

"The BMW Group continued on its successful course in July and we are confident that we will continue to make solid gains throughout the second half of the year," Ian Robertson, head of BMW's sales and marketing, said. "Our new vehicles have been very well-received - the luxurious BMW 6-Series Gran Coupé has had an excellent start - and we are confident that the new BMW 7-Series and X1 which are launched this month will provide for further success."

China continues to contribute to BMW's growing sales, with sales in the country up 29.6 percent to 182,048 vehicles so far this year. U.S. sales have also been healthy in 2012, with BMW's seven-month sales tally standing at 185,715 units - an improvement of 9.5 percent over last year.

However, Europe remains a potential soft spot for BMW with sales dipping 0.4 percent to 497,932 vehicles through the first seven months of the year.
