I’d rather have a true M1.

A BMW appearance package shouldn’t be called “M”, it deludes the meaning of it.

Well, I think that’s a farse RC. I don’t have to see an A5 in person to think it to be beautiful, or an Aztek to know it to be ugly. There is no misticism in my perception. The 1 series is not ugly by any means, but it is awkward and the headlights are ill-proportioned in my opinion.

I think series 1 picked a lot of design cues from Z4, which extremely ugly car replacing very attractive Z3. I believe it is creation of new design chief at BMW(forgot his name), who jumped off from Ford. I think he is one of those less talented left handed guys: Michaelangelo he ain’t.

I thought this was an automotive enthuiast forum, however it appears to be sprinked with fools that can’t stop from demonstrating their ignorance in black and white. So here’s your refresher about what the 1 series represents…

If you scoff at the 1 series, you fundamentally misunderstand what the BMW brand is. It really is just that simple.

I love the 1 series, but I don’t love faux-M packages that are basically rice.

“The purest BMW we have” … weighs nearly the same as as a 3, is technically no faster than a 3, with driving characteristics no better than a 3 … but looks WORSE than a 3 which, by the way, is not a good thing.

The true ignorance here isn’t what SEEMS to you, ‘Madcapp’, as black & white proof … rather, your bias towards the brand and what some salesman is helping you believe. Did you expect him to admit that he also thinks it looks retarded? He’ll admit that as soon as all insiders admit that your money is not safe in their hedge fund immediately before it blows up … ain’t gonna happen.

It’s a damn shame this is “The purest BMW we have”. BMW needs to go back to the great cars of the 80’s… When the 3 series was way under 3000lbs, the 5 series was barely over 3000lbs, and even the 7 series was less than 4000lbs.

A salesman is a guy at the dealer who is ready to tell you anything to make a few bucks comission off the sale of a car. Rick Brekus is an executive with BMW of NA…that’s a top level salaried postion that pays hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. I would expect you to have the issue confused, you’ve got everything else confused, and I don’t expect that to change because you can’t fix stupid.

Again, your ignorance and idiocy can’t figure out that anyone in a position forced to embellish their product, no matter how bad it may be, will quit his job before he tells the truth.
