I drove one at the lot last week.. oh boy, what’s not to like (other than maybe the sticker price ~ but I heard all V8 BMWs are carrying major discount at the lot these days.)

After going on a long test drive in a 6M sedan and a DCT coupe, I must say I disagree with a couple of your opinions on the options.

I would forego the 19″ wheels. They’re huge and gaudy. The steering is already near telepathic with the 18″ inch stockers, and they look so good with titanium finish. And the ride doesn’t need to be any stiffer.

I would also select the Technology Package, and BMW assisst.

Having said that, I’m in love with this car, but I’m waiting for the 2009 model year, and the much revamped iDrive.

The writers did a very nice job of illustrating the appeal of a chassis unhindered by every manner of electronic nanny without being overly harsh on those cars that do. I don’t think anyone’s going to disagree with me when I say far too many cars of this caliber are ending up in the hands of people who simply couldn’t drive their way out of a paper bag. And that’s fine, let them have their safety net and if they honestly believe they’re doing all the work, well good for them.

I don’t think it’s possible for a sedan to be any sexier…unless, of course, it was a 550i. Even then, this thing is just incredible.
