One of my clients has a Quattroporte and just freaking loves it. He had some issues with the manumatic tranny at first but some software changes have made it better. He says it still luggs around town some in auto mode but much better then before.

It sounds great and looks even better. He has the Executive GT which is around 115,000 dollars and at that price point it is a freaking bargin.

Asher _ I read that he new Maserati Coupe will basically be a shortened version of the Quattroporte; which is almost all Ferrari. The current Coupe/Spyder uses a dicarded Pininfarina chassis and a Ferrari motor/drivetrain. The quattroporte is 100% designed by Ferrari.

I would not be cost effective to manufacture new parts when you have Ferrari parts right there at your diposal. It is still a business.

I look at them all as poor mans Ferraris, despite what the marketing execs say. They are very concerned that Ferrari will be cheapened if the word gets out thet there is a lot of Ferrrari content in a Maserati. There was a movement to take the company public a few months ago and that is why all the “not that much Ferrrari in a Maserati” talk. When you hear a Maserati blast by you, the sound is unreal.

I am fortunate to actually live near a Ferrari dealer, ALGAR in Bryn Mawr,PA. Those guys will tell you there is a lot of Ferrari in those Maseratis.

One of the salesmen told me the current Coupe drives just like a 456GT.

Has anyone looked at the prices of just a few years old Coupe? They can be had for like under $60K with just a few miles on them. Absolute bargains. Very good looking, with stunning interiors.

I don’t see Mas not using Ferrari parts, especially since it would be cheaper to produce more Ferrari parts and use them in Mas cars than to make parts especially for Mas. And Alfa is too down market to use parts from say a 159 in a Mas.

It most certainly should be a GM fansite. Everyone would rather discuss real cars so they should concentrate on what the next GM vehicle should be. LLN would be smart to continue its articles on GM superiority rather than a waste of space like the next Nazi Bratmobile or Japcrap.

At first I didnt think the 6-series would really compete with the SL but I’d definitely take an M6 cab over an SL55 ANY day. As for the Porsche, its really in a different class altogether and for enthusiasts, the Porsche would be the choice everytime if luxury etc was not a factor as it is in the M and SL.

Ehhh SL is way overpriced and never really liked it. M6 is so, so, fugly and the SMG bothers me when I drove it. It would have to be either the 911 or the new XKR.

I’d rather have the 911, with better reliability and build quality and its good looks (compared to the FUGLY M6, which is the ugliest BMW, and that says a lot).

i live by the main line too. i’d take the m6 cabriolet as well. the m6 would be my convertible decision however I am very much in love with the porsche turbo.

I would get this M6 over any 911 Cabriolet. As much as I love 911s, they are kind of ugly as convertibles. SLs are everywhere where I live. 911s are like Corvettes on the Main Line.

Formula 1 derived BMW V10 motor is definitely something special.
