BMW prices 2007 X5 near previous model

08/14/2006, 2:53 PM

By admin

Following the official unveiling of the 2007 X5 last week, BMW has released pricing details on the new SUV. Despite an overall length increase of 7.4 inches, a third row of seats, and improved engines, prices are only slightly higher than the 2006 model. The X5 3.0si model will cost $45,900 — about $3,400 more than the outgoing model. Meanwhile, the the 4.8i will cost $54,500 — just $900 more than the model it replaces. Sales are expected to begin in November. [See our full report on the 2007 BMW X5 for more].

$46,000 is too much for an SUV that doesn’t come standard with leather seats

bmw is just trying to milk more money off customers. but chances are that if u could afford a 46k suv then u could probably afford the optional leather seats.

Hah you think 46,000 is too much for leather seats the GL450 starts at 54,000 dollars without leather seats.

I’m not in this category, but I know many people who don’t want leather seats. I think that BMW is making leather an option for this very reason.

I thought the reason the X3 was so espensive was to allow the X5 to move upmarket

There are some nut jobs who won’t by vehicles with leather seats because they are vegans or whatever but that has to be a pretty small market.

I guess that could be the reason. Honestly though BMW leatherette is so good it is often hard for most people to tell it is not leather.

Get the V8 and leather is standard. BMW leatherette is pretty damn good.

Aside from the gas mileage, the X5 4.4i is one of the best all around vehicles ever.

Also, BMW’s leather isn’t all that good and people think it’s leatherette.

My A4 uses leather in the center of the seats and ‘leatherette’ on the side bolsters. Honestly, I could not really tell, until I found out (not from Audi of course, they don’t tell you…) and even then the difference is negligible, since both are finished extremely well.

The NEW 4.8 is replacing the old 4.4.

Now how about an X5 6.0i with the V12 out of the 760Li priced to compete with the ML63 AMG and Cayenne Turbo…

Umm…not every person likes the feel of leather. My girlfriend has an ‘06 325i and I strongly recommended her to get the Leatherette. It won’t stick to your skin(if you wear shorts or skirts) after long periods of time. It doesn’ get as hot in the summer when you sit, and doesn’t get as cold. In order to keep leather clean you have to take care of it with leather conditioners and whatnot. Leatherette can be cleaned with Water and a Rag. So yeah, guys…there are people who work for companies like these who have to think about stuff like that and make certain decisions according to what the consumer likes.

Take Porsche for example. Everything is an option!(I would know, I work for them) The reason:
Not everyone wants full power seats which add weight. Not every needs BiXenon headlights. It’s up to the customer. When your spending that much money on a car, you want to make sure your getting the most of what you paid for.

^^^ I think all Porsches should come with Xenon headlights and limited slip differentials. They should not be options from a sports car manufacturer.

If you buy a BMW SUV because you are a vegan, then you can eat my $3,400 vegetables, so you will fit better in the Mercedes CLK coupe during the seminar luncheon for free.

When I wear no panties in a BMW with leatherette seats, you have to break the seal before I can get out of the car

Andre if you reall work for porsche tell them to fix their online car building program. You almost need a doctorate in engineering to wade through all of the options and packages just to build a car on that program.

Like who? It is a Porsche, a high performance sports car. Why would you not want one in this application.

Enlighten me…..
