Andre if you reall work for porsche tell them to fix their online car building program. You almost need a doctorate in engineering to wade through all of the options and packages just to build a car on that program.

^^^ I think all Porsches should come with Xenon headlights and limited slip differentials. They should not be options from a sports car manufacturer.

Umm…not every person likes the feel of leather. My girlfriend has an ’06 325i and I strongly recommended her to get the Leatherette. It won’t stick to your skin(if you wear shorts or skirts) after long periods of time. It doesn’ get as hot in the summer when you sit, and doesn’t get as cold. In order to keep leather clean you have to take care of it with leather conditioners and whatnot. Leatherette can be cleaned with Water and a Rag. So yeah, guys…there are people who work for companies like these who have to think about stuff like that and make certain decisions according to what the consumer likes.

Take Porsche for example. Everything is an option!(I would know, I work for them) The reason:
Not everyone wants full power seats which add weight. Not every needs BiXenon headlights. It’s up to the customer. When your spending that much money on a car, you want to make sure your getting the most of what you paid for.

My A4 uses leather in the center of the seats and ‘leatherette’ on the side bolsters. Honestly, I could not really tell, until I found out (not from Audi of course, they don’t tell you…) and even then the difference is negligible, since both are finished extremely well.

Get the V8 and leather is standard. BMW leatherette is pretty damn good.

Aside from the gas mileage, the X5 4.4i is one of the best all around vehicles ever.

There are some nut jobs who won’t by vehicles with leather seats because they are vegans or whatever but that has to be a pretty small market.

I guess that could be the reason. Honestly though BMW leatherette is so good it is often hard for most people to tell it is not leather.

I’m not in this category, but I know many people who don’t want leather seats. I think that BMW is making leather an option for this very reason.

bmw is just trying to milk more money off customers. but chances are that if u could afford a 46k suv then u could probably afford the optional leather seats.
